Lies we Tell kids
If you are a parent, you are guilty of telling one or more of the
following lies to your little rebel. Lying is a necessary part of parenting. Trust me, I know. I’m a
parent too and am not ashamed to admit that I lie occasionally. Hey, it makes
things easier sometimes! Hopefully I’m not the only one out there in this world
that has used these lies. Of course, we don’t mean anything negative from
telling them so don’t worry, these lies won’t permanently damage your kid or
make you a bad parent :) But as we all know,
children grow and get smarter and will catch on!
One: Santa, the Easter Bunny and Tooth Fairy really do
exist!
Two: If you pull an ugly face like that again, you'll stay
like that forever!
Three: If you don’t eat all your food you’re never ever going
to grow.
Four: Oh no it’s broken! You can’t play with it anymore. (Meaning
if that toy makes one more sound it really will be broken)
Five: Those aren’t vegetables!
Six: The cartoons are all sleeping so you can’t watch them
right now.
Seven: If you are naughty, Santa will give you a lump of
coal for Christmas.
Eight: Oh wow! What a beautiful drawing!
Nine: I’m listening/Watching
Ten: This will only hurt a little bit.

The Best is Not Better than You: Life is Simple
These days,
there is just so much out there for our kids. There are many new options, a lot
of new technology, and so many “other better things” out there. We tend to forget how simple life really is.
We really don’t need much to live a happy life. We just need the basics. Well,
asides from the underwear and the shoes, what are the basics?
Okay so we
are about to get all “smarty pants” right now.
So, there
was this guy named Abraham Maslow. He had this psychological theory on human
motivation and stuff. Take a look at the pyramid.
It’s alright
to feel as if you must give your children the best of everything. That shows
how much you love and care. We’re not saying it is wrong to be this way but we
just believe that by giving your children your very best puts forth as much
effort as getting the very best.
Friends, we
encourage you to find a balance between these two and you may have fewer
worries :)
